LiFT: Linking Families and Teens Workshop

LiFT: Linking Families and Teens Workshop

Saturday February 10th, 10 AM-4 PM, Wasilla

While parent-child connections have been shown to be a protective factor against sexual risk behaviors in teens, only half of all teens feel comfortable talking to their parents about sex. LiFT: Linking Families & Teens is a workshop aimed at strengthening communication and the family bond to create healthier teens. The workshop will take place February 10th from 10 AM-4PM in Wasilla.

It is open to high schoolers and their parenting adult. This means parents, foster parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, family friends, or another important adult in the teen’s life. Teens can earn up to $110 for participating, and adults up to $80. Families will earn a $10 Fred Meyer Gift Cart upon completing enrollment paperwork and can earn an additional $5 Kaladi’s Coffee Gift Card for any families who they refer and successfully enroll.
